Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning

Technology in Ford Taurus takes a giant step forward with the available adaptive cruise control and Collision Warning with Brake Support. Adaptive cruise control functions just like normal cruise control, but with one exception: When its sensors detect traffic slowing, your vehicle also slows down. When traffic has cleared, your vehicle resumes the preset speed. Collision warning with brake support will alert you if it senses a potential collision with the car in front of you. A “heads-up” display, which simulates brake lights, flashes on the windshield. If you don't react in time, the brakes will precharge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you brake. Adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support are available on Taurus Limited and SHO models.

*Not available with SHO Performance Package.

The cross traffic alert feature uses blind spot monitoring sensors to audibly and visually alert you to impending traffic while you are slowly backing out of a driveway/parking spot and another vehicle is approaching from either side. BLIS with cross traffic alert is optional on Taurus Limited and SHO models.
