Best-in-Class Towing |
The F-150 gives you best-in-class trailer-towing capability (11,300 lbs.)* with the added confidence and stability of standard Trailer Sway Control (TSC)** and an available factory-integrated Trailer Brake Controller (TBC). What's more, the selectable tow/haul mode on the standard 6-speed automatic transmission compensates for altitude, grade and load to aid performance, especially when you’re driving up steep grades or down extreme slopes. You can choose the Trailer Towing Package or the optional Max Trailer Tow Package — a special group of heavy-duty towing upgrades.
*When properly equipped. Class is Full-Size Pickups under 8,500 lbs. GVWR, non-hybrid, vs. 2011/2012 competitors. **Remember, even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It’s always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions.

Best-in-Class Payload |
The F-150 continues its tradition of delivering best-in-class* payload capability. And that's not all. Two class-exclusive available features, the Tailgate Step and Box Side Steps, provide easier access to all that payload capability.
*When properly equipped. Class is Full-Size Pickups under 8,500 lbs. GVWR vs. 2010/2011 Competitors. Shown with optional bed extender.

AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®) |
AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®) uses a combination of reduced engine power and selective wheel braking to help the driver maintain control.* Corner too quickly or swerve to avoid an object and RSC® will automatically use its gyroscopic sensors to measure vehicle roll and turning rates, then apply the proper response to help keep your vehicle under control.
*Remember, even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It’s always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions.
Trailer Sway Control |
Trailer Sway Control (TSC) builds on the AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®) system to help maintain trailer control through selective wheel braking and reduced engine power.* The result is noticeable stability and control, which provides greater driver confidence when towing the largest loads.
*Remember, even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It’s always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions or inappropriately loaded trailers.

Electronic Locking Rear Differential |
The electronic locking rear differential, when engaged, locks the rear axle completely to provide maximum traction at both rear wheels at the same time. The electronic locking rear differential is fully integrated with the AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®) system to deliver excellent control when traveling on- or off-road. It's standard on the FX4 and SVT Raptor, included in the Off-Road Package, and available on all other 4x2 and 4x4 models.

Integrated Trailer Brake Controller |
The F-150 offers an available fully integrated Trailer Brake Controller (TBC).* This first-in-class feature** synchronizes vehicle and trailer brakes for seamless braking (even with the heaviest loads) to provide added driving control and confidence.
*Compatible with electronically actuated trailer brakes including electric brakes and electric-over-hydraulic brakes. **Class is Full-Size Pickups under 8,500 lbs. GVWR, non-hybrid, vs. 2011/2012 competitors.
Hydroformed Frame |
Solid truck construction begins with the frame, the backbone of the truck. No wonder the Ford F-150 is proud to boast the strongest frame in its class.* The F-150 frame features fully boxed high-strength steel with through-welded crossmembers, excellent static torsional and bending stiffness, and minimal overall frame deflection. The front frame rails themselves are constructed using hydroforming technology.
*Class is Full-Size Pickups under 8,500 lbs. GVWR, non-hybrid, vs. 2011/2012 competitors.

Outboard-Mounted Rear Shocks |
The Hotchkiss-design rear suspension mounts the rear shock absorbers outboard of the frame rails for ride and handling. |
