AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®)

AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®) selectively applies the brakes and modifies engine power when wheel slip is detected. This helps minimize skidding and fishtailing and provides greater control on surfaces such as ice, gravel or rain.*

*Remember that even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It’s always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions.

Trailer Sway Control

Trailer Sway Control (TSC) builds on the AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®) system to help maintain trailer stability and control through selective wheel braking and reduced engine power.* With TSC you can feel greater confidence when towing a large Class III or IV boat or camper.

*Remember, even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It’s always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions or inappropriately loaded trailers.

Six Standard Airbags.

Ford Expedition is equipped with six standard airbags, strategically placed to help protect you and your passengers.* There are dual-stage front seat airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, and side curtain airbags (part of the Safety Canopy® System)* that deploy from the headliner on both sides of the vehicle. A rollover sensor directs side curtain and side airbag deployment in the event of a rollover or certain side-impact collisions.

*Always wear your safety belt and secure children in the rear seat.

Rain-Sensing Wipers

When activated, rain-sensing wipers can detect rain, snow or road spray hitting your windshield, and automatically run at just the right speed. You don’t have to take your hands off the wheel or other controls to adjust your wipers as weather conditions change. The system does this for you. And you can set its sensitivity to suit your needs. It is standard on Limited and King Ranch®; available on XLT.

Keyless Entry Remote and SecuriCode™ Keypad

Expedition features a keyless entry remote key fob that lets you unlock and lock the doors, as well as the liftgate, from up to 33 feet away. Also, with the SecuriCode™ keyless entry keypad, you don’t have to fumble looking for your keys in your pocket or purse to lock or unlock the doors. Another time it comes in really handy – when your keys have been locked in the vehicle. Just enter a security code and you're in. An added security feature is the panic alarm button that can alert others to possible emergencies. The standard SecuriLock® Passive Anti-Theft System helps prevent the engine from being started unless the correct coded key is used. A flashing light indicates the system is armed, adding a visual deterrent to would-be thieves.

Standard Traction Control

Traction control comes standard on the Ford Expedition. The system allows momentary reduced engine power or braking at the slipping wheel to limit wheel spin and send torque to the wheels that have the better traction.

SOS Post-Crash Alert System™

Ford Expedition is equipped with the SOS Post-Crash Alert System™.* When the airbags** are deployed or safety belt pretensioner is activated, the horn and emergency flashers activate to help first responders locate the vehicle. The system is deactivated using your key fob.

*SOS hardware may become damaged or the battery may lose power in a crash, which could prevent operation. Not all crashes will activate an airbag or safety belt pretensioner. **Always wear your safety belt and secure children in the rear seat.
